Those sound incredibly yummy, Elizabeth. My grandma used to keep a huge cookie jar of homemade doughnuts in the kitchen. I think she made them once a week, and they were similar to these, small and rich. I’m pretty sure she didn’t use cognac, though. I’ll have to make these some time!
