Oil on canvas board, 8″ x 10″. # 3 of my 30 in 30.
Dedicated to a gifted painter – perhaps the shyest artist I have ever known.
She did not know her own power. Rest in peace, Kathy.

I am currently trying to work on larger paintings for my August show, like the unfinished one below.
Nothing is finished, everything seems difficult and my muse is making himself so scarce these days. I wish he’d speak little louder.
I have fifty unfinished paintings in this studio and nothing to post.
Lo siento.
I wish I could go away and wake up late April.

Three nights running. Nothing seems to knock me out.
May need some animal tranquilizer soon. It’s driving me crazy.
Things to be happy about – the glorious rain pouring down onto my poor neglected gardens (back to back shows this summer took a wicked toll) and the lovely generous present of many beautiful new painting panels from a gifted and accomplished Denver artist friend- many thanks to the Fantastic Mr. Fox. I can’t wait to sully these pristine things.

yet. Working on the last big canvas for the show, hope to get it done in time.
Sick. Exhausted. Hair coming out by the handful.
We hang in five days.

For Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Lord, remember not only the men of good will, but also those of ill will. But do not remember all the suffering they have inflicted upon us. Remember rather the fruits we have brought, thanks to this suffering: our comradeship, our loyalty, our humility, the courage, the generosity, the greatness of heart that has grown out of this. And when they come to judgment, let all the fruits we have bourne be their forgiveness.

here in Denver. Sunny, dry and warm.
More of a “White Wine in the Sun” Christmas, as in the Tim Minchin video below. It’s one of my very favorite Christmas songs.
The days are getting longer and my family is happy and healthy. The weird, funny, beautiful things we make for one another as Christmas gifts (often without spending a dime) remind me that I really do have the best kids in the world.
Plus my fruitcake turned out kickin’ this year. I think my grandma would be proud.
